The problem

Refunds are often the most demanding part of a ticketing tool.

Buyers complain — sometimes legitimately, sometimes not. Triggering a refund should be simple: search buyer, mark ticket, click refund. In most legacy tools it's a 7-click journey with three confirmation dialogs, manual Stripe correction, and an Excel sheet someone updates with 'yes, refunded'.

For large events with hundreds of refund requests, it becomes a full-time task for someone on your team. Money you could put into better operations.

The solution

Refunds in one click — full or partial.

Tickable turned the entire refund flow into a button. Buyer is found, ticket marked, refund triggered — Stripe reverses, splits roll back correctly, buyer gets auto confirmation.

Full refund: complete ticket cancelled and refunded

Partial refund: any amount, e.g. only the service fee

Bulk refund: 1,000 refunds in one workflow (e.g. event cancellation)

Splits reversal: co-organizers and artists are auto-rolled-back correctly

Often missing
"On the 2026 weather cancellation, we had to refund 8,500 tickets in one night. We managed it in 90 minutes — including all splits to our three co-organizers. Before, it would have been a week-long task."
Daniel K. · Festival organizer · Berlin

Why refund management is often underestimated — and decides reputation.

Refunds are one of the most frequent buyer interactions after purchase. Anyone with a bad experience here writes a 1-star review. Anyone seeing the refund on their account in 10 seconds becomes a returning buyer.

Tickable treats refunds not as an edge case but as a core workflow. Every feature — splits reversal, auto-mails, accounting receipts — is natively integrated, so your ops team doesn't need to manually rework anything.

Bulk refunds on event cancellation — the stress test for any ticketing tool.

When an event gets cancelled (weather, illness, force majeure), thousands of refunds must be triggered fast. Tickable handles 10,000+ refunds in parallel, including correct splits reversal and automatic buyer communication. We know this because our customers have done it — repeatedly.

Accounting compliance without manual work.

Every refund comes with a PDF receipt for the buyer and CSV export for your accounting. VAT amounts are correctly reversed and shown in reports. No manual Excel correction, no 'something's still open' at month-end.

FAQ

Refunds — every answer.

How long does a refund take to reach the buyer?

On credit cards 5–10 business days (Stripe standard). On SEPA 3–5 business days. Buyer gets immediate confirmation email.

Can I refund only the service fee?

Yes. Partial refunds allow any amount — you enter the sum, Tickable refunds exactly that.

What about splits on a refund?

Splits are auto-rolled-back correctly. Co-organizers, artists, and venue see the equivalent amount deducted from their next payout.

Can I trigger bulk refunds on event cancellation?

Yes. You select all tickets of an event and trigger a bulk refund. Tickable refunds all in parallel and sends all confirmations automatically.

Are Stripe fees also refunded?

Stripe keeps the transaction fee (1.4% + €0.25) — that's Stripe standard. The buyer gets the rest in full.
